AP Math & Science Tests
AP English & Social Science Tests
Every Enhanced Prep journey begins with a diagnosis of a student’s individual strengths and weaknesses. College entrance exams test a wide variety of concepts. We identify which concepts will be most valuable for students to focus on so they can maximize their accuracy on test day.
Enhanced Prep tutors will provide each student with different tips and tricks to help them save time on the test without sacrificing accuracy. Equipped with these strategies, students will be able to see a question and know the best approach to answer it and avoid pesky test traps.
So, you’ve mastered the content of the test and you know how to approach the different kinds of questions on the test. What’s next? Each student will receive a unique game plan detailing how much time they should spend on each section of the test, the order in which they should take the test and more!
Preparation for the SSAT can include several different tactics including flashcards, sample questions, and essay practice. As a result of the variety of questions covered on the SSAT, it is best to pace studying over time. Working with an Enhanced Prep SSAT tutor who will create a unique game plan will help a student find the preparation methods that allow them to successfully prepare over time.
Different areas of the SSAT may be hard for different students. The elementary test is designed to cover information learned through 3-4 grade; the middle school test covers information from 5-7 grade, and the high school test consists of knowledge learned by 8-11 grade. Having assistance from an online SSAT tutor will allow everyone invested in a student’s success to understand what the student needs to be successful and will help make the test easier.
There are limits to how many tests a student can take in a given year depending upon grade level. An elementary student can take two tests a year but only one can be a flex test. Middle school and high school level tests may only take two computer-based tests per year, however, these levels allow for unlimited standard test retakes and one flex test on the paper version.
When taking the paper test or a computer-based test at a testing center standard #2 pencils are required as well as an admission ticket. A student may have certain personal hygiene items with them as well including hand sanitizer, tissues, and feminine hygiene products. Food in a baggie and a drink bottle that can be seen through may both be brought into the testing area as well. Electronics, such as calculators, and any personal items are not allowed in the testing area and students may not wear coats or hats in the test area.
If the test is being taken on a computer from home a student must have working speakers, a microphone, webcam, and a Chrome browser. It is permissible for an examinee to have a see-through bottle for water in their testing space. Prior to beginning the test, there is a required sweep of the room via camera to insure prohibited items are not present. A test-taker is allowed two pieces of notebook paper with nothing on them and a non-mechanical pencil to use during the test.
Each section of the SSAT is scored separately with both a scaled score which will display a given range of all possible scores and a percentage score that will display how the test-taker did compared to other test-takers. There is also an overall score that combines all the section scores together which also contains both a scaled score and a percentage score. Each school will have different score requirements for admission.
